Cloud computing: What does it mean for government?
Posted on 07. Jun, 2011 by Pauline in Huddle, Webinars
With the Government ICT Strategy highlighting the need to make the move to cloud computing and the full cloud strategy due to be released this summer, the UK government’s shift toward this technology is gathering pace.
As cloud computing moves further into the limelight, the press is full of reports, studies and articles about the associated security issues, the challenges of deployment, the benefits of cloud computing, costs etc. One of the most recent reports by the World Economic Forum, entitled Exploring the Future of Cloud Computing, concluded that governments worldwide need to take action to ensure that cloud computing’s potential is realised. So what is the potential of the cloud and what does it really mean for public sector organisations?
With budgets being cut, but the need for greater efficiency, and improved working practices and public services remaining top of the agenda, technology – particularly the cloud- has a vital role to play.
On 14 June at 11am, Huddle, the leader in cloud collaboration and content management, will be running its first Introduction to cloud computing in government webinar.
In this session, we’ll be discussing:
- What the cloud means for government
- How cloud computing can drive innovation, reduce costs and offer the flexibility and scalability required
- How more than 60 per cent of central government departments and numerous local councils and NHS organisations use Huddle to securely share information and collaborate
- Huddle’s main features and benefits
This is a great opportunity to pose your questions to the team and find out how other public sector organisations are already using and benefiting from cloud computing.Register now to ensure that you don’t miss out.
