Fulham Football Club Foundation engages with a younger generation

At Fulham Football Club Foundation, we have been delivering the Lambeth Summer World Cup for the last three years. The project is aimed at young people between the ages of 8 and 15 years old and is available to boys and girls. With this tournament, we aim to provide young people with free and easy access to high quality sporting activities and competitions that they wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to participate in. In total, the contest aims to engage 320 boys and girls per week.

This year, the Lambeth Summer World Cup will be taking place over 6 weeks from 26 July until 3 September. The final will take place on 18 September and the winning team will be invited to a presentation during half time at a Fulham FC Premier League match at Craven Cottage.

Previously, participants have been unable to track their league position and upcoming matches. However, now that we have access to Huddle, players and parents can use a safe and secure online environment to discuss matches, access information about their opponents, see where they are in the group stages and find out which teams go through to the final rounds.

The collaboration tools that Huddle provides us with will enable effective communication between everyone involved in the Lambeth Summer World Cup. As Huddle is online, it should also appeal to the younger generation and they will be able to navigate their way around the site easily.

As participants will be able to track their progress right from the beginning of the tournament, Huddle will also help to increase throughput figures for the tournament’s duration. In the past, many participants have only joined the tournament towards the end, but we hope that Huddle will be a turning point as it will engage young people from the word go.
