Yesterday BusinessWeek announced their top fifty start ups that you (yes, you) need to know about. And, wouldn’t you know it, they were kind (or insightful) enough to include Huddle.com on their list! Some of our favourite global start ups such as Ning, Xobni, Boxee and Spotify were also included so it was a real honour to be chosen.

Our list includes fledgling tech companies – most started in 2005 and later – from the US, China, India, Israel and Russia that are attracting some early buzz and are poised to grow beyond their regional or niche-market origins

There are just twelve non-US companies (and only three from the UK) on their list so we must be doing something right! Here’s what they said about Huddle.net:

A new way to move your shared work online, Huddle has managed since its 2006 launch to attract major corporate and government clients that use it to share documents, manage projects, and host group discussions in its secure space.

We’ve come a long way since our launch in 2007 and it’s really, really wonderful to get this kind of recognition (you can read the full press release on our website). I’ll be spending some time in the US later this year to further grow our international profile as we (hopefully!) continue our march towards global domination.

What do you think of the list? Which companies should also have been included? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
