We are building a better Huddle this year. Not that we haven’t done a great job in the past, but it is now time for us to help make your working lives even more effective and more focused on what you need to get done.

Everything in its place

The biggest step in this release is moving Huddle to fixed width. This means that no matter what size you choose for your browser window, Huddle will look the same. You have probably seen this in action without thinking about it – sites like the BBC, Facebook and many other applications and web sites do this.

We are making this change for three key reasons and they all benefit you:

  • Huddle will always look, feel and work in the same way regardless of what size your browser window is
  • All future improvements and new functionality can now be built to fit the same size application. This means that you won’t suffer from unexpected behaviour in Huddle if you choose to make your browser window smaller or larger
  • We can focus on delivering new functionality more quickly, instead of developing for what Huddle may look and behave like under a myriad of circumstances. This means a better Huddle, faster.

A more in-depth blog post on this long awaited change will go live next week. You can also sign up for our New Features Live! Webinar here

We realize that while many of you may be thrilled about this improvement, it may initially seem a bit daunting to some. We want to make sure that you know two things:

1)      This is the right step to ensure Huddle continues to help improve the way you work

2)      We are here to answer any questions you may have and welcome your thoughts in our feedback forum

We are also releasing three more great enhancements:

Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010 file support

That’s right, Huddle now supports viewing and editing of 2007 and 2010 Office formats as well as a host of other formats.

At-a-glance task progress updates

A picture says a thousand words, and a visual progress indicator tells you even more! Now you can gauge the progress of all your tasks just by looking at the visual indicator. Clear and simple.

Monthly calendar view

You can now choose to see the calendar either in a full month view or in two week chunks as before. Whichever suits your way of working the best.

General tweaks and minor bug fixes have also taken place to make sure that Huddle always gives you an enjoyable user experience.

This is only the beginning

In 2011, you will experience a host of great new functionality and a whole new user experience.  We’ll do that consistently, with the quality and support you have come to expect from us. That is our New Year’s resolution, and we look forward to keeping it.
