NHS organisations nationwide leap to the cloud as Huddle on track for record year in NHS

November 11, 2013

NHS organisations across the UK are shifting towards innovative cloud technologies as Huddle today announced that it is on track for a record year for NHS contracts. Providing secure cloud content collaboration for healthcare institutions, Huddle increased the number of deals secured with NHS organisations in the first six months of its financial year by 44 per cent over the same period last year.

Huddle provides NHS organisations with a secure central environment where all relevant parties involved in a project, such as Trusts, CCGs, and industry and technology partners, can access, store, share and work on content together. Over the last six months the likes of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, NHS Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have joined Huddle’s growing portfolio of NHS clients.

“It has been a phenomenal year so far for the cloud in the NHS,” said Alastair Mitchell, CEO, Huddle. “Healthcare organisations are now looking for ways to support an increasingly mobile workforce and provide people with secure access to the information they need regardless of their location. Healthcare reforms in the NHS have also increased demand for flexible, agile cloud-based technologies that can be up and running within hours and help realise efficiencies. With shared services initiatives demanding much closer collaboration between local authorities and healthcare providers, secure cloud services such as Huddle provide the ideal solution for sharing and discussing information across the firewall.”

Additional Huddle healthcare customers include NHS 24, Advancing Quality, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Ealing Hospital NHS Trust and the Coleridge Medical Centre.
